The trust aims to encourage people in the field of horticulture and related activities. Our primary function is to train people and where possible to see that they are able to move to more open employment. However, we recognise that for many people this may be too great a step and for there we want to encourage a health lifestyle. Over the last few years and in discussion with the local authority we have placed a greater emphasis on more formal training and to this end we built a new training room and are developing a range of physical activities. Physical activities that the trust provides include bike riding and a volleyball/croquet court. We continue to grow plants for sale to wholesalers. We work on various schemes both around the site and off site which are concerned with conservation and wildlife habitat improvement.
